Another busy month, as usual. The site for Manistee Golf (www.manisteegolf.com)
is near completion. Please check it out, and let me know your thoughts.
Honest, unbiased opinions are hard to come by!
I would like to ask you for a favor. I was thinking that an easy way to
get the word out on the site would be to distribute some golf tees (for
free, of course) to the subscribers, and have them use and lose them at
their local courses. If you are interested in receiving a handful of free
tees from OGS, please send your name and address to me via email at danperry@onlinegolfsolutions.com
(US only, please.) They should arrive here within a week or so, and I
should be able to ship them next weekend, or the beginning of the following
week. As always, your names and addresses will be shared with no one.
Believe it or not, I get about 3 or 4 emails per week asking if I sell
my subscriber list, and I always politely decline.

Official site of the 2000 Masters
http://www.masters.org
Every golfer loves the Masters. Whether for the difficulty, the exclusivity,
or the field, it is undoubtedly one of the biggest golf events, period.
This site is the epitomy of the Masters. It is packed with info, including
a full course description by Jack Nicklaus, a virtual walking tour (which
includes the champions locker room, the clubhouse and the first tee) and
ticket information. Of course, the tickets for this year are sold out,
but you can always get on the list for next year.

* Guest Article "Golf and the Internet - Are there any links?"
-----------------------------------------------------------------
This is an article that was submitted to me by Karl Kanning, and I thought
it was something the subscribers may enjoy. Let me know what you think.
GOLF & THE INTERNET - ARE THERE ANY LINKS?
Are you into golf? If you caught the pun in the headline I know that you
are. Even if you don't play the game personally you most likely know the
name "Tiger Woods." You probably would recognize his face too.
So, how does that make golfing and web surfing the same in any way? Here
is the connection.
Do you recognize the name, "Sergio Garcia?" Unless you follow professional
golf fairly closely you will not know his name or face. So, before we
take a look at the "link," let's bring you up to speed on our new friend,
Sergio.
For starters he is 19 years old and a Spaniard who still lives in Spain.
In April he earned the right to play in the "Masters" tournament in Georgia
as an amateur. That is the place where they play for the coveted "Green
Jacket" as well as the money. Well, he did quite respectably at that event
and turned "pro" shortly thereafter.
Now for the fun part. He earned $1,637,932 dollars on the professional
golf circuit in the next 8 months. In addition, he was asked to participate
in the very prestigious, and potentially lucrative "Skins Game" at the
end of the year. You know, the one where there are only four players and
each hole is worth about $75,000.
Here is the connection. It did not make any difference that he was still
a teenager, a foreigner, or anything else. What mattered was that he could
compete and win on his ability and effort alone. There were no barriers.
He just needed to produce.
Don't the parallels just jump out at you. He was offered a level playing
field with all of the giants in the game today. As you venture out into
the World Wide Web you are afforded those same conditions.
It does not matter who you are, where you live, how old you are, what
race or nationality you are, or what your education or experience has
been. There truly is a level playing field. It comes down to your ability
and effort. You can compete with the big boys and win.
Sure I understand that they have more capital and other resources, but
that also translates into overhead expense. You have less of those kinds
of resources, but you also have about zero overhead to deal with.
Now let's take a look at some advantages that you have that do not exists
for Sergio. He has to be very good and play extremely well every time
out or there is no paycheck. He is playing in a highly competitive arena
and there are very, very few at the top of that pile.
But, you can compete and be very successful financially without being
anywhere near the top of the heap. You have a much broader field to play
on. It is not so narrow and the margin of error is far greater. Sergio
can play all week only to have 2 bad holes blow him out of the water.
The Internet is far more forgiving than that. You can have some bad days
and still do quite well for the month. Those who are out testing the waters
of the Internet are very similar to those adventuresome souls who started
in St. Louis in the early 1800's and looked west to the vast unknown.
The potential was staggering. Yours is also. So go hit the "links."
Wishing you success in your Internet game.

* Book Review "Golf Flex" by Paul Frediani
-----------------------------------------------------------------
The publishers of Golf Flex sent me a complimentary copy of their book
for review. It is a very good, easy-to-read book on the importance of
warming up, and getting more flexible for your golf game. One of the more
interesting quips from the book is "While muscle overuse is a common cause
of injury for professional golfers, weekend golfers injuries are most
often a result of improper form, muscle weakness, and lack of flexibility."
Some of the common myths about stretching, including "I don't need to
stretch everyday", and "I'm too old to stretch" are addressed. Also, in
the beginning of the book, are the 10 basic points of stretching, the
most important being "Always Breathe". When I tried some of the exercises,
I found myself holding my breathe. I wonder where this originated from,
because I asked some friends, and they said the same thing. Remember,
"Always Breathe."
I liked the fact that, besides describing every stretch in relation to
the muscles used and the end result, there is a picture of the author
performing each stretch. I also like that each stretch has a "Result"
section, which will let you know what each stretch will improve in your
swing. For example, the exercise called "Helicopters" will improve your
backswing, downswing, and follow through.
There are specific stretches near the end of the book for strengthening
the rotator cuffs, back and abdominal exercises, hip exercises, and even
some for the feet and ankles. All in all, an easy read, and at a price
of only $9.95, easy on the wallet also. For more information, visit their
website at http://www.getfitnow.com.
