Running late this month, but, for a change, I have a good reason. I'm taking
my wife on a weekend trip to Vegas, and I've spent a lot of my time on reservations,
maps, etc. Even though I'm late, I still wrote this months Featured Article.
I had a guest article, but I really felt that it was great and helpful info,
so be sure to read it.

I'm going to make this brief. The way that this guy explains how to perform
tasks in Windows, with pictures, is the easiest that I have ever seen in my
entire life. Everyone I know would benefit from this site. If you want to be

I was recently asked by a manufacturer of swing training aids to submit a proposal
for an online marketing plan. They wanted to know what could be done to improve
their online sales, and specifically, generate more traffic to their site.
One of the first things I looked at was the availability of additional domain
names. They are relatively inexpensive, and are THE most important factor in
the search engine rankings. If keywords are included in the domain name, it
will result in a higher ranking in the search engines.
OnlineGolf Solutions.com is a long domain name, but it gets a lot of traffic
based on the keywords Online and Golf. The site is also accessible using OGSgolf.com,
but it doesn't rank nearly as high.
I spent about 45 minutes thinking of possible domain names for this company.
As of mid-May, the following domains were available:
Golfaid.net, golfaid.org, golfaids.net, golfaids.org, swingaids.com, swingaids.net,
swingaids.org, swingaid.com, swingaid.net, swingaid.org, teachgolf.net, teachgolf.org,
golfswingaid.com, golfswingaid.net, golfswingaid.org, bestgolfaid.com, bestgolfaid.net,
bestgolfaid.org, bestswingaid.com, bestswingaid.net, bestswingaid.org, trainingaid.org,
teachinggolf.net, teachinggolf.org, learngolf.org, learntoplaygolf.net, learntoplaygolf.org,
learntogolf.org, bestgolftrainingaid.com, bestgolftrainingaid.net, and finally,
bestgolftrainingaid.org.
That's 32 possibilities; now to narrow it down. Base the decision on keywords,
giving .com's a preference. My choices would be:
1. GolfSwingAid.com
2. BestSwingAid.com
3. BestGolfTrainingAid.com
4. TeachGolf.net
5. LearnGolf.org
6. LearnToPlayGolf.net
Six domains at (currently) $35 per year, equals $210 per year, if you purchase
the domains yourself. If manually submitted to the engines on a regular basis,
this could at least double your traffic, and quite possibly a lot more.
This could easily apply to any business, such as a golf course. Here's a good
tip: Buy a domain such as BestGolfInNevada.com, or ClarkCountyMichiganGolf.com,
or whatever relates to your geographical area. Buy it now, and thank me later.
As long as people use search engines to find what they need on the Web, these
domains will be of value. And remember, for six of them, it's a little over
$200 per year.
Remember that domain names are issued on a first come, first serve basis.
