The Online Golf Solutions newsletter will now be distributed in the middle of
the month. The GolfProHelp.com newsletter will be distributed at the beginning
of the month. This should give me a little extra time to prepare each one.
The PGA is this weekend, and, for those of you who don't know, I have a scan
of the Valhalla scorecard located at http://ogsgolf.com/golf/scorecards/valhalla.html
At GolfProHelp.com, we are giving away a few great golf items. They are folding
golf caddies, with tees, a pencil, ball marker and divot tool, and leather bag
tags, laser engraved with the winner's name and address. These are monthly giveaways,
so it ends August 31. To sign up, and see pictures of both, visit: http://www.golfprohelp.com/giveaway.asp
Also, don't forget to signup for the GolfProHelp.com newsletter. This month,
there was a great submitted article concerning how to get golfers to fix their
ballmarks. It is an easy way, that I never thought of before. The article is
posted online at http://www.golfprohelp.com/Articles/index.asp and you can subscribe
to the newsletter at http://www.golfprohelp.com/subscribe_form.asp

"I hit my second shot on the run, just so I could get out of there as fast
as I could."
Jeff Sluman, after hitting his first tee shot 30 yards, two weeks after winning

Free E-books for website promotion
http://www.bizwebsolutions.com/download/downloads
Bizwebsolutions is a great place to find information on running a business online.
In this particular section, there are some great e-books for download, ranging
from "The 25 Best Marketing and Promotion Articles" to "The Best of the Best
Ezine Article Collection" to "Seven Secrets To Unlimited Traffic".
All of these are in the form of an e-book, where you download an EXE file, double-click
it, and start reading. They are a great source of information, so give them
a look. Remember that to read most of them, you'll need IE4 or above.

* Feature Article "To outsource or not to outsource?"
-----------------------------------------------------------------
You need a web site. That's a given. Do you try to take on the task yourself,
and save some money? Do you have an employee or a nephew that is dabbling in
design create it for you? Or do you outsource the entire thing? Let's take an
in depth look at the advantages of outsourcing.
Reasons for Outsourcing:
1. It maintains management focus.
Running a pro shop and a course is enough work, without having to worry about
running a web site. By outsourcing, you let someone else deal with cross-browser
compatibility issues, level of CSS implementation, etc. It allows you to do
your job, and let someone else do theirs.
2. It lowers your initial cost.
Although outsourcing will have a cost, initially it will be a lot less than
not keeping it in-house. To do it yourself, you would need a server that is
constantly connected to the internet, an email server, and they would need to
be monitored around the clock. By outsourcing, that big up-front cost is avoided.
3. Your site will stay fresher. If you designed your own site 2 years ago, and
it hasn't changed since, your site probably looks a little dated. I don't know
how many sites that I still see with blinking text, or scrolling text at the
bottom of the browser window. By outsourcing, the design team can implement
new technologies as they become more popular. For example, CSS is popular, but
only some of it works on both browsers. Let your designers worry about it.
4. You'll be online faster. Outsourcing is faster, period. A designer can work
on your project for days at a time. When was the last time you had an extra
few days to spend on something other than your core business?
As you can see, there are a lot of advantages to outsourcing. Yes, there is
a cost involved, but it seems to boil down to what your time is worth. Do you
enjoy spending your free time (what's that?) in front of a computer studying
the intricacies of cross-browser design, and the new XHTML standard, or would
you rather spend it doing something you enjoy? If your answer is that latter,
consider outsourcing today.
At Online Golf Solutions, we provide customers with complete outsourced solutions.
